Welcome Back !!! We hope you all had a great summer and are ready for an exciting Autumn Term

Year 3 Squirrels

Welcome to Year 3 S - Squirrels!

Hello! Welcome to Mrs Carpenter's Class. We hope you had an enjoyable Christmas break.

This half term we will be doing a topic about different cultures in our community. We will be focusing on travellers and will be thinking about what makes a home, using a short film to write diaries and using DT skills to create a Vardo.

After half term our topic will be Narnia. Our focus will be on story writing but we will also be using ICT to create interesting photographs and thinking about different materials in Science.

PE will still be on a Wednesday so please make sure your child has their school PE kit every week. Swimming will be on Thursdays so they will need a swimming costume (girls - 1 piece and boys - fitted trunks/shorts only) and a towel in a bag. Girls will need to have their hair tied back. Goggles can be worn if a permission letter is sent.

Your child has a reading book and should read at home as much as possible. It is important to listen to your child read, even if they are a fluent reader. Please write in your child's reading diary so that we know you have listened to them and they will get a reward!
Bug Club is also up and running so if they forget their book and have internet access they can always use the link below.

Your child will usually recieve homework every Friday for Literacy and Maths. They will have a week to complete the work and so this will need to be returned by the following Friday. Extra rewards for it being done by Monday! If you child is struggling they have the opportunity to gain help and use ICT in Mrs Fox's lunchtime homework club. Homework not completed may be done during Golden Time. If they have any difficulties in understanding, please encourage them to have a chat with me.

Miss Horton will be working with our class every morning and some afternoons and Mrs Withnall will teach the children on a Wednesday.

If you ever have any concerns please come in and see us.
