Welcome to Year 4 - Badgers!
Welcome to Mrs Revill's class page.
This term we are learning all about the Tudors; their monarchs, their lifestyles, their explorers and their buildings. Thank you and well done to everyone who has done absolutely fantastic Tudor research at home. We will be going into Newark to look for and sketch Tudor buildings and going on a Tudor trip once the weather gets warmer! If you would like to find out more about the Tudors please visit:
Our RE topic is about Values, and will be learning about and discussing values such as justice, peace and honesty in terms of Christianity and Humanism.
We will continue with our French unit 'Moi' (all about me) and will be practicing greetings, saying hello, saying goodbye, our names, our ages, and our family members. The children are doing extremely well learning a new language, and those who come to Language Club on a Tuesday night are getting even more opportunities to practice. If anyone would like to join language club in the summer term (after Easter), please see me, Mrs Revill, anytime to put your name down. We ask that children make a commitment for a term at a time.
Our PE days are still Monday and Wednesday afternoons. The children will need a full change of clothing and indoor and outdoor shoes. Please ensure you provide a school PE kit for your child. If your child cannot remove their own stud earrings, please remove them at home before they come to school or send in plasters to cover them.
Please continue to encourage your child to read to you at home. We have an exciting reading challenge with prizes to be won! The challenge is to read 3 times a week at home by Easter - this will be at least 25 reads. Prizes will be given for 25, 50 and 100 reads. Will you be our first winner?
If your child forgets to bring their reading book home, they can continue to access Bug Club using their existing log in and password. Please follow the link below.
This week we have been willow weaving at Devon Park with George the Park Ranger. All the children made beautiful hearts for their mums and nests for our school display. We were very proud of the children, who represented our school extremely well with their brilliant behaviour. Later on this term we will be Time Travelling at Southwell Minster, which should be a fun-packed day!
The children in year 4 are continuing to learn the recorder every week, and did a wonderful assembly for the whole school recently. A big Thank You to Miss Reid for coming in especially for that! The Year 4s have an exciting opportunity to perform their recorders at Centrestage at The Magnus, so please return your slips as soon as possible so we can get practising!
