Reading – Your child has a reading book which we expect them to spend some time reading each evening and it would help them greatly if you would spend a little time asking them about the book they are reading.
Homework. As well as reading, each week your child will be given two pieces of homework, depending on the activities in the classroom these will be literacy, numeracy or topic based. They will be given this work on a Friday and we will ask for it in on Wednesday, so we can mark it and get it back to them for Friday. If they do not understand the task or have difficultly completing it, please encourage them to bring it back and explain to us the problem they are having with it. This will help us to make sure we are providing the correct level of work for your child so they can continue to progress. Should they wish to do more, then we would recommend BBC Bitesize, for both numeracy and literacy.
Please ensure your child brings their PE kit every day as when we have the opportunity we will be catching up on the PE we have missed. Also just to remind them to bring a suitable hat and sun cream if the weather turns sunny.
This term we have many trips booked, these include a visit to Leeds Armouries, Trent University, Nottingham Concert Hall for the ‘Now Hear This’ Concert. Further details will be coming to you shortly.
As always we are grateful for your support and should you wish to help us in school in any way just let us know. Any questions, of course you know where we are and you are welcome to come to see us.
Thank you for your continued support.
